Know the difference
Finish is not armour.
Coating is not a physical film and does not provide the same stone-chip barrier as PPF.
Swirls, defects, repairs or an earlier coating can change the preparation needed. Ask which concerns can realistically be addressed before a coating is applied.
If stone chips and light abrasion are your main concern, start with paint protection film. A coating does not make paint scratch-proof.

Ask when washing can resume, which products suit the coating and which maintenance is required rather than simply recommended.
If coating over PPF is proposed, ask for compatibility confirmation for both named products and the care instructions that apply.

Does a new car need a coating?
Not automatically. Consider the finish, washing routine and paint condition. Coating, film or ordinary paint care may fit different priorities.
Can I compare quotes by price alone?
Only when the product, preparation, surfaces and terms are comparable. Ask for those details before weighing the total.
